Fwd/RE: Are you and I the same?

Hi,

Ok before we get started here, I want to do a little test to see how alike we are.

Think of this like a personality test, but with zero structure and not actually like a personality test at all.

Here we go:

Imagine, for a moment, that you bought a particularly amazing sandwich from a hole in the wall Vietnamese food place nearby ( downtown ).

You order online ahead so you can go pick it up, and sure... the website looks a little shady.

FÜ   King Restaurant website... used to live across from it on Atlantic & 3rd Ave. Bklyn, NY

And yeah... the checkout cart didn't really seem to work right. it was a bit funcky...

I did the same with clothes at FCUK.com that's French Connection UK...

BUT... that suspicious website is the only thing stopping you from some high-quality pork Banh-Mi. or. Mushi Pork! They do Chinese too! In fact if you go there, they share a kitchen and there are two restaurants one Vietnamese the other Chinese and nextdoor you guessed Thai 'n  Japanese shushi.

I don't think Thai's do 'shushi' but what do I know!? Fry up a mess of that sushi... It's okay cause you've been to the one in named 'Tsuru' in Davao City PI & again in Kissimmee FL.

And nothing - NOTHING - is going to get in the way of that.

So you close your eyes and hit enter at checkout. You can practically *smell* the sandwich. Your mouth is watering.

It's go time.

So you jump in your 2004 Yukon or your FJ Cruiser SUV which they don't make anymore,  ( yes, I'm still rocking the same truck from many years ago if you're an OG M$$M reader ), and head to the sandwich shop.

Great success. The sandwich is everything that you thought it would be.

Fast forward one week later...

You're going over all of your transactions at the end of the month, just like you do every month.

But this time... you see something.

$7.61 - Banh Mi Palace (name of actual restaurant has been changed because your boy doesn't like being sued etc.)

Ok. Awesome. That sandwich was baller. What a great memory.

And then... you see it again. Same day, right under the first transaction.

$7.61 - Banh Mi Palace

Hmm. Weird. And then...

$7.61 - Banh Mi Palace

$7.61 - Banh Mi Palace

$7.61 - Banh Mi Palace

etc.... must've held onto the key to long and the website was so slow had to keyset many times right?

In your mind you whisper: "YO WHAT IN THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE I HAVE LITERALLY BEEN ROBBED BY THE SANDWICH PLACE I SEEK REVENGE"

( NOW THIS HAPPENS WHEN YOU TRAVEL AND BUY AIRLINE TICKETS AS WELL in Davao City PI and your trying to get back to TUSCON AZ and it comes up Tulsa OK )... a curious thing...

So in a fit of rage, you dispute the charges from the sandwich place. You *knew* that cart was jacked up. How could you make such a mistake?

Or in front of you they say sorry I didn't go thru lets do it again....

I've had that happen in B'klyn NY with a wireless charging gizmo, had $900 charged twice... parking for Valet Service and by the time I got to Staten Island I needed a new alternator... $300.00

Of course you call your bank and cancel or reverse charges, but DC/CC is canceled and you now have to wait 'til 7- 10 days to get new one...

You call, email, stalk, and do everything short of going to the shop and physically burning it down to get your money back... R-I-G-H-T!

...

... so... does that sound like you? I use LifeLock and I get a message every-time this kindda happens...

If so, then we are the same. Congrats. You win nothing. Sorry!

But if you're afraid to light buildings on fire to recover $7.61, (or $900) then you're going to want to see what comes next:

Trim. It's an app that will cancel subscriptions you don't use, nor need and negotiate on your behalf to lower your monthly bills, and ultimately help you save money easily. Gotta do my part for 'Smokey The Bear!'

Don't commit arson to save money.

Check out my review of Trim instead.

Thanks!

- Johnny
