Hello, Welcome to the latest issue of our monthly mailing for the luxury travel industry... I'd like to start by wishing you all, your friends and families, your communities and, of course, your businesses all the very best for the challenging months that lie ahead. If you would like to read - or comment upon - my current thoughts about the effects of the pandemic on the industry, you can do so by visiting this blog post: My thoughts from over 33 years in the travel industry on the implications of the COVID-19 coronavirus This time last month I wrote to you from an airport, namely Dublin Airport about upcoming trips to Berlin and Sicily etc., neither of which happened, of course. Instead, today I'm eMailing you from home as the travel industry goes through a crisis that it's never previously experienced in living memory. I know many of you in the industry are very busy handling travel insurance claims, cancellations, credits towards accounts and rescheduling at a time when you would normally be at your busiest with bookings, travelling as you should, which must be especially difficult to accept and comprehend, given the hysteria. Whilst it's going to be difficult for us all, rest assured that A Luxury Travel Blog & Biz has the ability to weather this storm and we will continue to support all our clients, both old and new, throughout this challenging period. As many of you already know, the main service we provide is to offer advertising and marketing services to luxury travel businesses, in general. We're well aware that often the last thing people want to do in a crisis is continue with their marketing activities, but history has often shown that its those businesses that continue to develop and adapt their business strategy, and tactics and that are creative with their marketing, in doing so, that are invariably best positioned to thrive when they come out on the other side. We want to do everything we can to support luxury travel businesses through this crisis which is why we're suggesting a number of different ways in which we can help: Guest blogging packages at 50% off - for 14 days, only By far the most popular way to work with us - especially over the long term - is guest blogging. From a one-off cost of just £499 (that's around $600 at current exchange rates), you can have your own account on our site through which you can share blog posts directly. With each of these posts comes a signature with a link to your site, so the more you post, the more exposure you get. What's more, there's no limit to how many times you can post, all at no additional cost. And with our 50% off for 14 days offer - which is designed to support businesses that are suffering with the current situation - it is just £249 ($300) for our bronze guest blogging account. All other accounts ordered in the next two weeks will be discounted by 50% also. Just email us back if you would like further details of the options available. Services in lieu of payment We know that, for some of you, the idea of spending more money - however small a sum it might be - is inconceivable right now, which is why we are looking at providing our marketing services at their usual costs in exchange for services that will, in turn, help us. We also recognise that some of you will be confined to staying at home and have time on your hands so maybe - just maybe - this will suit some of you. If you are skilled (and inexpensive!) in any of the following areas below, then please contact us. Writing We are happy to exchange our services for some specific writing assignments if you have a talent with the written word. Just send an email to paul@dedicate.co.uk with the subject line 'COVID-19 writing assistance'. Marketing We are looking for people to help with sharing our blog posts with the wider world. We have extensive resources where we know our blog posts can be effectively promoted in exchange for credits that can be used against advertising with us. Just send an email to paul@dedicate.co.uk with the subject line 'COVID-19 marketing assistance'. Video Editing We are going to be launching a completely new YouTube channel (please subscribe and hit the bell icon if you haven't already!) and will be looking for an inexpensive but skilled video editor to piece together a number of clips and intersperse them with content that I record myself in front of a green screen. Just send an email to paul@dedicate.co.uk with the subject line 'COVID-19 video editing assistance'. A link to any past examples would also be useful. Editorial opportunities Luxury travel businesses affected by the COVID-19 coronavirus We'd like to hear from any CEOs, MDs, business owners, etc. affected by everything that is going on as part of a compilation post about the disease's impact. We are looking for short quotes of around 50-100 words that outline the immediate effects for your business, give some facts/figures on the impact, and give a personal opinion on the longer term outlook. Each piece we used will be attributed to the person in question with a link to their website. Please send an email to paul@dedicate.co.uk with this information clearly set out in the form of a usable quote and with the subject line 'COVID-19 impact'. Photograph of the week We are still looking for new imagery to feature in our regular 'Photograph of the week' round-ups. To have your picture considered, please send an email to paul@dedicate.co.uk with the subject line 'Photograph of the week'. All we need at this stage is a link to somewhere online where we can view the image (no attachments to be sent at this stage please) and a sentence or two about it. If it's one we think we can use, we'll be back in touch for further details. Please only submit if it's a really remarkable, high quality image... and remember, we provide a link to your website with every image we use! Suite of the week We are re-igniting our once regular 'suite of the week' series on A Luxury Travel Blog. If you represent a luxury hotel that has an exceptional suite that you think might be a good fit for this series, please email paul@dedicate.co.uk with the subject line 'Suite of the week' with details of the suite you have in mind.
