"It doesn't work"
"IG/Facebook ads suck"
"My ad got zero sales"
"Low ROI?"
I hear this a lot from newbies trying to get clients with ads.
They're shocked when sales don't happen overnight.
Here's the thing.
With Google, you have high buying intent.
You go to Google. You search. You're in the mindset to buy.
Why do you visit IG/ Facebook?
You're looking to kill time. See travel pictures, family pictures, food pictures ( ok, maybe not food pictures. Nobody really logs in to see what their friends are eating or the restrooms they photograph from).

Then, you see an ad.
Buy my thingmajig or widget?
Join my webinar.
Watch my video.

You probably scroll right past them too.
You're busy...looking at food pictures, remember? And so are your ideal clients.
Maybe you're thinking:
"Well, forget this. I don't want to "interrupt" my ideal clients. I'll just learn Google adwords."
Slow down.
There's a chrome extension called "keywords everywhere".
If you google: "Facebook advertising" for example, (Something my ideal client might Google), the chrome extension says the average cost-per-click for that keyword is $9.
$9 for one click...
....just for those two little words.
Not if they actually wait for the page to load.
Not if they actually read my offer on that page...
so on and so forth...
Just.to.click.

Don't get me wrong ...I'm not hating on Google. Google is great. ( they kicked us out though so were on fb.com, instead )
But it's expensive. It's been around longer than Facebook and the prices reflect that. Same with Twitter.
Can you afford it and stay profitable?
IG/ Facebook is definitely cheaper but you need a different strategy to turn strangers into rabid and raving (double-optin) fans, friends & followers and then convert to buyers.
They both serve two different purposes in the digital marketing world.
Understand that and you'll start to see them for what they really are.
Different tools to reach your audience at different times.
