RE: RV Renting...

There are some people who will never rent out their RV. And that's fine.

If you're a full-timer, your RV has a name and is part of the family, it can seem crazy - insane even to let your "Betty" get into the hands of renters who aren't familiar with her.

However, there is another group of people who can seriously benefit from renting out their RV.

Here's when renting your RV can make sense:

If you're considering the RV Lifestyle and are 2-5 years out from retirement, getting an RV and renting it out can be the perfect way to dip your toes in.

Because you're still working, you probably will only be using your rig once or twice a month (and definitely not during the week), that means the rest of the time it can be up on a rental site and making you money!

You can also use renting to get extremely familiar with all the systems (electrical, plumbing, mechanical) on your RV before you do a multi-week trip or go full-time.

Renting it when it's not in use and just sitting in your driveway will also help you cover some of (if not all of) the payments.

This is also a good way of getting into a slightly used RV for very little cost. If you want, after renting out your unit over a couple of years you can then trade it in towards your dream RV when you're ready to go full-time.

Even better is to apply any additional revenue from the rental towards the balance on your loan. This should help you end up with positive equity towards your trade-in. Which is almost unheard of with RV purchases.

If you only want to RV part-time but want to make some money to cover the payments.

RVs are expensive purchases and depending on how much you're using it, that $800+ payment each month can be a large drag on your finances.

We'll cover how much you can likely make renting out your rig in the course (and how to find out real numbers for your exact location) but even renting out 1-2 days per month can bring in ~$250-400/month which means that doesn't need to come directly out of your pocket.

If you are looking to have a side hustle.

Depending on your location renting RVs out can become a viable business model. The income they can generate at popular destinations is remarkable. Having multiple units that you rent out can not only generate positive cash flow but can become a real full-time business.

Live near a national park or popular tourist destination like Dinseyland? Renting RVs could be something you do full-time.

In building our RV Renting School course and community our goal is to help you succeed in all manners of renting your RV and cover everything that you need to know to begin renting out your RV.
Whether your goal is to pick up a little extra money to help cover the cost, dive feet first into renting to generate income or to start renting as a part-time or full-time endeavor.

Our goal is to provide you an unbiased place to learn about and improve your rental process.

This is a collection of the knowledge of everything that you'll need to understand and be aware of before you begin renting your RV.
