Hey,
I've been going down memory lane lately. This usually happens as I'm reviewing old blog posts and re-sharing them on my Facebook page.
For all practical and intensive purposes, it was a little over four years ago when I made my first paycheck of many from blogging with a new blog and things haven't slowed down since.
While it's been a crazy 4-year journey, here's a few stats I want to share with you in my first year of blogging:
- Started my blog in January 2015
- Quit my job 15 April 2015
- Worked on my blog (try to find another job, in my spare time)
- Made my first $60 from my blog after only 2 months
- In my first year, I made ~$13,000 from my blog
- Did I mention, quit my day job to go on to blog and work as a Pinterest Virtual Assistant by end of 2015
- (Instagram & Tumblr, similar venues)
Now, your journey will not be the same because it depends on what you want!
I wanted to eventually leave my 9-5 day job and I made that my mission. I left my full time job in October of 2015, had to train somebody to take over and have been self-employed ever since then. I trained two people one a tech an another Manager, to take over what I was doing for the former company.
Maybe you want to be self employed. Or maybe you want to earn extra income in your spare time via side hustle. Or pay off that stupid $50K student loan bill.
All of these are GREAT reasons and goals & objectives to start your blog. 🙌
You got this!
Jon
P.P.S. Not interested in blogging? Cool.
Opt out here but stay on my regular list.
