Traffic doesn't come free.
You either pay for it, or you kindda pay for it with your time.

Often, the gurus don't talk much about paid traffic to bloggers because it's less sexy. It isn't fun to tell people to spend money.

So, paid traffic gets a lot lesser attention than it should really be getting in the blogging + biz world.
It's easy to get affected by overnight success stories, but the truth is that growing an online audience and brand is hard work. Something has to go. If you choose to pay with your time, be prepared to put in weeks and even months.
You need a cohesive traffic and list building strategy if you want to successfully grow your traffic and email list. My free list building webinar is a great place to start.
Typically, I recommend people to start with free methods, and once they have a consistent level of traffic, to scale it up with paid methods of traffic.
