Hi! Human beings are social creatures. We weren't meant to live in isolation or take on all the challenges of life on our own. There's a reason people still use the phrase, "No man is an island." It's so true, right? And, whether we're intentional about it or not, we're naturally drawn to people with common interests, common goals, or shared experiences.

I know that for me, personally, there's this mysterious comfort that washes over me when a friend tells me, "I know exactly what you're going through." No matter what I'm facing — good, bad, exciting, or terrifying — it's always easier when I'm surrounded by people who really understand. Well, I just experienced this at ACTIVATE 2017, our very first live event for Elite Blog Academy. It was absolutely incredible!

As a first-time conference host, I was a little nervous. Aside from the planning, marketing, and ALL the logistics (which my team completely knocked out of the park!!!), I had questions about the attendees. Would they actually show up? Would they get real value out of this? Would they get along with each other, or would we have to deal with some crazy drama? Well… they certainly showed up! And everyone was more excited about their blogging businesses when they left than when they arrived. They came in with fears and questions, and left with a clear vision and action plans! The coolest part, though, was the incredible feeling of community! One attendee even called it "a giant blogger love bubble". It makes perfect sense! Every person at the conference was surrounded by people with common interests, goals, and experiences. The energy that came from this was amazing!
