Simple Ways of Internet Marketing That Can Work For You

Many people are often confused by the huge world and vast complexities of internet marketing, when they first venture into an e-commerce option. They see the possibilities, but don't yet quite understand how to obtain and profit from them. There are some great techniques and methods mentioned in this article that will guide these new users on the way to internet greatness.

The number one key to internet marketing is to make sure you have a website. By doing this you open up your business to many different people from areas all over the world. Since the numbers of internet users is rising more every day this is a great strategy to get your business out there.

Internet marketing does not have to be difficult. There are plenty of free resources out there to help you get your message out to millions. Check out all these options before you spend a dime on a paid campaign, you may be surprised and very pleased with the results you find.

Site-wide links should not be used. In the latest internet marketing algorithm changes they have become highly depreciated, and may even lead to penalization. There should only be one site-wide link for every forty to fifty unique links. It is better to be safe then sorry with your links.

If you have users that you have only had contact with by phone you should offer them the chance to sign up for your online newsletter before hanging up the phone. Let them know that there are deals and discounts involved when they sign up for the newsletter service.

A good internet marketing tip that everyone should implement is to use different types of ads for your banners. Do not make all your banners the same as this will attract the fewest number of people. Each different add has the potential to capture the interest of someone new so keep several of them around.

Your URLs will be more popular with search engines if they have clear, descriptive names with easily understandable keywords; "www.doghouse.com/doghealth/nutrition" is easier to understand than "www.doghouse.com/0734214/6al331.htm". Dynamic URLs, even if they contain readable keywords, can also be less friendly to the search engines. Your visitors will also have an easier time navigating your site.

Tracking the data of visitors to your website-how long they visit, and what products or service they linger on-is important information that can be very useful in improving your website. This data can be an opportunity to learn what the customer is interested in and perhaps spot a trend in sales.

You can position your product and service offering as premium and highly exclusive, by requiring site registration to view protected content. This causes site visitors to perceive your brand as being more prestigious, guarded and mysterious. Being part of a larger exclusive group, also communicates a feeling of VIP status.

If you do plan to use online videos to market your website, one often forgotten idea, is to include a transcript with the video. YouTube videos have the option of including closed captions and these are scanned by the major search engines. Add keywords and phrases to your video transcript and you'll drive more traffic to your site.

If you are going to market your website, have a clear goal in mind. Know what your website will offer, who you should be targeting and what you hope to achieve in the marketing. Each marketing push should have a clear goal in mind such as driving a specific type of traffic or increasing a certain aspect of your business.

Try to avoid hiring other people or companies to do parts of your internet marketing for you. This will do two things for you, help you to develop your own set of skills but also it will help you to keep the costs of your project down which results in higher profits.

Use these concepts to build the foundation of your marketing campaign, but branch out and make it your own unique build. The chances are, any niche you attempt to sell through, is already heavily packed and filled with competition from all angles. You will need a new way to break through the ranks and only then can you truly call yourself an e-commerce master.

High Test, Premium vs. Regular: What’s the Right Gas for Your Car, Pickup Truck or SUV?

HighTest, Premium vs. Regular: What’s the Right Gas for Your Car, Pickup Truck or SUV?

Gasoline all smells the same. It’s the wrong stuff for lighting charcoal grills, and more likely to flash and burn you. And it’s confusing (slightly) about what gasoline to use in your car, SUV, or pickup. Here’s what you need to know about buying gasoline for your car. Further down, we’ve also got information on buying gasoline for yard tools such as snowblowers, lawn mowers, and chainsaws. Also for buying diesel fuel for vehicles.

Premium gasoline helps some not all engines develop more horsepower. But not more mpg. (Photo: BP. Main photo: Bosch)

In a nutshell, buy the gasoline your owner’s manual calls for. That means regular for cars using regular, or 87 octane; and premium for cars using premium, meaning 91 or 93 octane. We’re citing the octane numbers posted on pumps; there are other ways to report octane as well.

Write this on your palm: Buying 91- or 93-octane premium won’t benefit a car designed to run 87-octane regular gasoline. The octane rating is the measure of the fuel’s ability to be compressed before it self-ignites without the spark plug. Premium can be compressed more, resulting in a bigger bang when the spark plug goes off, and more downward pressure on the piston and crankshaft, so it delivers more power. But engines aren’t variable compression (except Infinitis with the new VC-Turbo system), so a car designed for regular compresses fuel to the point where regular won’t self-ignite. It won’t take advantage of premium’s power potential. Running premium in a mainstream sedan or crossover doesn’t improve fuel economy, either.

It used to be the case that premium gasoline had extra detergent additives to keep the engine, especially the valves and injectors, cleaner. Now the additives have to be in all grades of fuel of every gasoline provider selling Top Tier (which covers nearly all the major US retailers and stations; see below for more info).

What about using regular in a vehicle that calls for premium? You shouldn’t do it. But it depends on the automaker’s wording:

Premium fuel recommended means that’s what you ought to use. If you put in a tankful of regular, the engine’s knock sensor will dial back the ignition timing to avoid premature self-ignition (also called knock, or pre-ignition) of the compressed air-fuel mixture. Knock doesn’t sound like a knock on the door or like hammering; it’s more like a gurgle or rumble you may not even notice. You’ll get 5-10 percent less horsepower with regular, though fuel economy shouldn’t be affected.

Premium fuel required means don’t use regular. Period. If you wind up with a tank, or half tank, or regular, the engine-management computer’s knock sensor will still protect you by adjusting the ignition timing or air-fuel mixture. But don’t floor the throttle. You could add a can of octane booster, but note that some boosters contain carcinogens and/or ethanol.

Cadillac’s CTS-V – think Corvette for four passengers – requires, not just recommends, premium fuel for its supercharged 640-hp V8 engine. But why would you try to save five bucks filling the tank of a $100,00 car?

If someone tells you he (usually it’s a he) got better mileage running premium in a car meant for regular and got higher mpg, ask him if he ran an A/B comparison test over the same course. You’re hearing barroom talk. (Readers who disagree: That’s why the Comments section lies below.)
In short, current cars with knock sensors should be capable of dealing with octane levels below the recommended fuel. Older cars without knock sensors would suffer damage from continuous use of regular gas in a car meant for premium.

Trademarked Top Tier gasoline is a guarantee you’re buying good fuel. But good luck finding if an independent station has Top Tier. There’s no requirement the logo be on pumps. Employees may not know and some may say “Yes” as is “Yes we have gasoline.” (Image: Top Tier. Main image, above: Bosch)

A consortium of gasoline companies has banded to sell high-quality gasoline using the industry-wide trademark Top Tier. It calls for an enhanced package of detergent additives. Most majors pump Top Tier gas and every gas station bearing their logo will be Top Tier. But not every major is Top Tier (just most of them). Costco is a Top Tier seller but not currently BJ’s or Sam’s Club.

All of the top 10 gasoline retailers, by service-station count, are Top Tier: Shell, Exxon, Chevron, Speedway, BP, Circle K, Mobil, Sunoco, Valero, and QuikTrip. They account for more than half of all gasoline sales (57 percent of market share), according to the Oil Price Information Service (OPIS).
A test by AAA found significant differences between Top Tier fuels and those without the additives in Top Tier. Among the brands tested, AAA says in its report, “Non-Top Tier gasolines caused 19 times more engine deposits than Top Tier brands after just 4,000 miles of simulated driving. Such carbon deposits are known to reduce fuel economy, increase emissions and negatively impact vehicle performance, particularly on newer vehicles.

Here’s a full list of Top Tier stations in North America. If you don’t have the list, just google “top tier gas.”

If you pull into an independent station, ask if the station sells Top Tier. It would be nice to see a Top Tier logo on the pumps, but that’s optional. Be prepared for the station attendant having no clue about Top Tier. Keep on driving. If you are low on fuel, go ahead and fill up. The fuel likely came from a distributor servicing multiple stations and instances of bad gas — water in the fuel, or regular sold as premium — are still small.

Chevrolet Equinox SUV Diesel: Buy the diesel version and you’ll get 40-45 mpg on the highway, way better than the EPA’s 38 mpg rating. Diesel passenger cars and SUVs typical beat the EPA tests by a healthy margin (photo: Bill Howard).

Sooty diesel smoke means engine problems, not dirty fuel (photo: Bill Howard)

Diesel fuel is injected at higher pressure than gasoline. Injector cleanliness is crucial for proper operation. There’s a Top Tier certification for diesel. But service stations may also sell diesel not meeting the Top Tier specs, or sell diesel for farm use (stripped of road use taxes, it’s much cheaper) that isn’t Top Tier. So for certified diesel, each pump must carry a Top Tier certification.
All diesel fuel sold for road use must be ultra-low-sulfur to meet air pollution requirements. This is the result of a long-running battle between Big Oil, which wanted more emissions gear on diesel cars and SUVs, and Big Auto, which wanted lower-pollution fuel. Big Oil lost, although most cars and trucks, to meet pollution limits, have to treat the exhaust with diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), also called AdBlue.

While automakers would like you to use their branded DEF, by definition, any diesel exhaust treatment must meet basic specs, so you can treat DEF as a commodity and shop by price. $5 a gallon, or $12.50 for a 2.5-gallon container is about right.

Diesel fuel is supposed to have a larger nozzle so you don’t mistakenly fill a gas-engine car with diesel. But that’s not always the case. There is no universal color for the rubbery surround on a diesel pump handle, though green or black is common, so make sure you take down the proper hose. The best way to tell the diesel pump is by the grease and dirt on the pump handle.
Diesel fuel is quite similar to kerosene, home heating oil, and jet fuel. In a pinch, you could use kerosene to keep a diesel generator going, but it’s not a good idea to put anything in a diesel car other than diesel fuel.

Snowblowers and other yard equipment that isn’t year-round should run on ethanol-free gasoline. Or add a fuel stabilizer. The same applies to cars parked for the off-season (photo: Bill Howard)
Gasoline-powered yard equipment and portable gasoline generators are characterized by long off-seasons when typical gasoline with about 10 percent ethanol by volume added can degrade over several months.

Do this:
Buy premium gasoline that is ethanol-free. Regular gas seldom is, while premium may be. Services stations with no-ethanol gas typically have signage indicating it.

Add a fuel stabilizer such as Stabil (one brand name) to extend the life of small-engine fuel.

Buy ethanol-free yard/garden engine fuel such as TrueFuel, $20-$25 a gallon. It has a shelf life (in the can or in your engine’s fuel tank) of several years.

Most engines for good mowers and snowblowers are four-stroke. You add engine oil separately. Two-stroke engines need oil added directly to the fuel tank, typically 1:50 (2.6 ounces per gallon of gas) or 1:32 (4.0 ounces per gallon). Two-strokes are cheaper, noisier, and on the way out because of pollution and noise issues.

When you’re done for the season, empty the mower/snowblower and run it dry. If you want to keep a little fuel in it, use the ethanol-free fuel. If you have a half-full container of gasoline, use it up in your car. If it’s really old, more than a year, take it to a town or county hazardous waste recycling day.

More Importantly: What's missing from most courses...

Hi John,

"Rise and grind!"

It seems like phrases and mantras around grit, hustle, and mental toughness are everywhere.

And for good reason!

Studies show again and again that the best indicator of someone's success isn't the amount of knowledge, skill, or talent they possess.

All of those things make little or no impact unless the student *also* has what it takes to follow through and keep moving forward.

Resilience is one of the most sought after traits that managers look for when hiring, yet it's one of the most common traits that high school and even college graduates are lacking.

There's a reason why some educators get results, and others can barely get students to stay awake.

It's because teaching requires more than passing knowledge from one mind to another. It's a collaboration between teacher and student, and must be done in a way where students are able to use and apply what they learn.

My friend Danny Iny explains in his new book, Leveraged Learning, how education done well imparts three things to students:

- knowledge

- insight

- fortitude

Knowledge is all about memory and skill. It's the foundation of learning, but unfortunately most education stops there.

Insight is critical. It's how you apply knowledge in the ever changing real world. If your students aren't able to apply the info you teach and get results, then your course failed.

"When the going gets tough, the tough get going."

That's fortitude. It's putting your head down and pushing through during the hard times.

So it doesn't matter if you're at the very top of your field. Or even if you think you're "pretty good" at teaching what you know.

If your students don't have the fortitude to finish, then nothing happens.

Danny teaches in his new book how educators can and must factor in knowledge, insight, and fortitude if they want to transform the lives of their students, and create and sell successful courses.

If course creation is on your radar, then be sure to read Danny's free book first.

You wouldn't want to waste time on a course that falls short on results for you or your students.

Best

John

Hi,

Is it really possible to build a hugely successful business and career creating and selling courses?

Absolutely.

Online learning alone is already a 160 billion dollar per year industry, projected to grow to 286 billion by 2023.

We're currently seeing higher education and many other education options fail (including a lot of underwhelming online courses).

And if you don't want your course to be lumped into that category, then your students have to achieve the results that you promise.

Courses that provide a learning transformation are going to thrive, and those that don't are going to disappear - as all bad products eventually do.

That's why Danny is holding a free live masterclass to expand on the concepts he covered in his book, Leveraged Learning. Because if you're interested in building and selling a popular online course, Danny wants you to have everything you need to succeed.

The masterclass is called:

"What It Really Takes to Build Courses That Grow Businesses and Change Lives"

You can choose from multiple times and dates, and in the live training you'll learn:

*** Lessons learned from experiments in rapid language acquisition; how the same tricks that you can use to learn Portuguese in a single week can be applied for you and your students

*** The 3 components of effective learning that a course MUST include to move the needle for students (almost every course you've ever seen only focuses on one of these, and doesn't even do that one well)

*** The 2 biggest reasons why learning fails, and how you can sidestep them both to achieve success

*** The design thinking-inspired course LAUNCH process for designing blockbuster training programs; no tricks, no gimmicks, just great courses that change your students' lives and grow your business

*** The 6-step Leveraged Learning course design process, and the order in which to go through the steps (going in the wrong order can seriously mess up your course, and cost you a small fortune)

*** Why education and online courses are a $4.4 trillion (yes, TRILLION) opportunity, and why NOW is the time to jump in with both feet

*** Plus a whole bunch more...

Are you interested?

Then register for Danny's free Masterclass.

My thanks in advance for your consideration, time and attention.

Rgds,

John

Getting the Best of All Worlds: Using Three-Way Link Building Action

Link building is important online, especially when you consider how expensive popularity can be. In general, link building is getting more people to link to you. The more people link to you, the more you will be noticed by the search engines; the more you will be noticed by the search engines, the more popular you will be; the more popular you will be and the higher your popularity ranking (as assigned by the search engines), the easier it is for people to find you when they start using any of your keywords as their online queries in the search engines. This means that more people can visit you, and you will have more prospective customers ? not to mention profits!

So how can you build your links? The old way is to engage in reciprocal linking: that is, ask someone to link to your site while you link to that person?s site. Such reciprocal linking can be easily effected when people submit the addresses of their websites to link exchange directories. This can increase search engine rankings. However, such a method can be abused: some people may ask for people to link to them, but these people often do not link back. Some people may ask for reciprocal links from smaller, less important sites, but these sites count very little toward site ranking. Also one might link several scocialmedia sites together so that if you place and ad or publish an article, in lets say in Facebook, it appears on Twitter and Linkedin, simultaneously with a sometimes, a link back to the fb.com post. Note that such sites as facebook are double optin sites, wherein if you are linked as a fan, follower or friend, you also get access to their network of friends, followers and fans. The cons has prompted people to engage in much larger web link building by joining 'interweb rings.'

'Interweb rings' are also referred to as three-way linking processes. In one example of three-way linking, a site on diamonds and diamond mining can link to a site on diamond jewelry. This site on diamond jewelry can then link to a site on the science of diamond formation, and how diamonds are fashioned for jewelry. This site on the science of diamond formation, and how diamonds are fashioned for jewelry, can link back to the first site on diamonds and diamond mining, thus closing the web ring. Sometimes, web rings can be larger than three members: fan sites will often have large web rings, and will have features on individual websites that allow website visitors to go from one site to the next in the web ring.

The three-way linking process appears to be a more natural link exchange versus the two-way, or reciprocal linking process. In reciprocal linking, two people exchange links the way they exchange calling cards. In three-way linking, people are part of a larger community and start linking to each other - this can be viewed as more legitimate on the part of search engines, and for the most part, search engines assign higher popularity values to sites that are part of a web ring, or that are engaged in three-way linking. This is because a three-way link can be a sign of popularity in a much bigger group, which can translate into bigger popularity than two websites linking to each other.

These are only a few important aspects of the three-way linking process. To explore possibilities for three-way linking, do a search on websites that are related to your website, business, products, or services. Offer invitations for a group link or a web ring, and present your case on how you can increase your individual polarity as well as theirs. This 'interwebs ring' might even be the road to much higher, more profitable things. Offline, all three of you can engage in business, or form a conglomerate and thus earn more money. Not only will you be popular through three-way linking, but you might be richer, too, with just the right blend of diplomacy and business mettle.

Subject: Thank you + starting your freedom journey

Hi ,

Thanks for clicking that sign up button on my website… I know how important your email inbox is and the last thing I want to do is clutter it with more unhelpful information.

So let me make you a promise… I will only ever send you emails that I believe will help you accelerate your path to freedom and success online.

Sound good? Well the first step is getting started, so let's address that today.

What is holding you back from starting a blog and kickstarting your freedom journey today?

The answer is nothing

So let's get your blog set up, it's super easy and cost effective.

Here's how:

Step 1: The first thing you need to start a blog is a place to host your website. Go to Bluehost and click the big green "Get Started Now" button. I've negotiated a special deal just for you - if you sign up via that link you get a free domain, easy WordPress installation, 24/7 support, a 30-day money back guarantee, and a massive 60% discount.

Step 2: Once you have your hosting organized, follow this simple step-by-step guide to set up your WordPress blog.

That's it… follow those two simple steps to set up your blog and your journey to freedom can begin.

Keep an eye on your inbox over the coming days and weeks because I'll send you a series of emails that will help you get started with your blog and make it successful!

For now, the first action you need to take on your journey to digital freedom is to go to Bluehost and set up your blog!

Cheers,

John

PS. Got a question? Here are a couple of the most frequently asked questions I get about starting a blog…

What is the cheapest way to start a blog?

With the special discount you receive for being a reader of JeffBullas.com you won't get a better deal than hosting your blog with Bluehost. The cost for an entire year is only $35 with a domain name included!

How do I pick a domain name?

This depends on what your blog is intended for. My first recommendation would be to go with "yourname.com" because it is great for branding and not limited by a topic as you adapt over time.

Should I just use a free blogging platform and then switch across when I'm making money?

Sure, this is an option. But in my experience it becomes very cumbersome and challenging to switch from a free blogging platform across to one you own once you are up and running. There are some very successful bloggers on platforms such as LinkedIn Publisher and Medium, for example, but they almost always regret not building their audience on a platform that they have complete control over. You won't get to control branding, and it will be much harder to monetize than a self-hosted blog.

I'm not technical, is a self-hosted blog still the way to go?

I can tell you right now, I didn't have a technical bone in my body when I started blogging. That was back in 2008, and I still managed to get a blog up and running using Bluehost and WordPress. These days, the support articles and 24/7 customer support from hosting services like Bluehost are 10x better than they were back then, so I'd be very surprised if you had any issues from a technical standpoint. WordPress is also an intuitive and easy-to-use platform. Bluehost have a 30-day money back guarantee if for whatever reason it doesn't work out, so you can be confident with your choice.
